A number of my colleagues who now work from home love it. At first. After a few months, however, they slowly start to unravel. Why? It's usually one of two reasons: too much isolation, or constant interruptions.
But what if you could find an upscale, modern place to:
Introducing WeWork! "We whaaaa?"- you say. WeWork.
WeWork is a US based company which provides beautifully designed shared workspaces, and other unique services to freelancers, startups and entrepreneurs. Here's just a taste of the more than 200 unique amenities you can find here:
BUSINESS CASUAL AMBIENCE
As the photos above show, from the moment you enter the common space it screams chic! It's like a home away from home. Wouldn't you love to work and meet clients here?
FULLY STOCKED PANTRIES
Let's face it, one of the perks of working from home is being able to snack all day long. Ha! It seems that the folks at WeWork agree. Every WeWork location comes with a fully stocked pantry and kitchen. At this location in Downtown Chicago's National Building, there was a kitchen and pantry on each of the four floors.
Each kitchen and pantry is stocked with coffee, tea, fruit water, filtered water, beer on tap, refrigerators, microwaves, basic kitchen equipment and utensils. There's even a fridge for folks who prefer to bring their own lunch. These items are always free for WeWork members at all levels, and their guests. A-mazing!
Members can also purchase snacks through the WeWork Honest Market. This means that WeWork trusts you enough to contribute money for the drinks and snacks you take during your stay.
For those looking for a private place to have a conference call, there are small, but efficient phone booths, fully equipped with a telephone and computer outlets. Available on a first come first serve basis, these booths offer ample privacy. There are 35 phone booths at this location.
OFFICE ESSENTIALS (additional fees may apply)
WeWork memberships also includes essentials such as:
There is an array of services available for professional meetings. All of these amenities fall under the WeWork all-inclusive rate membership :
If you like the idea of rubbing elbows with other freelancers, entrepreneurs, and think tanks like yourself, why not stick around for the weekly networking events.
Membership with WeWork is available in a few tiers. The We Membership* includes access to all of the items featured above plus:
PERSONAL OFFICE SPACE (additional fees apply)
Perhaps sharing an open concept space with other folks is really not your jam. In that case, WeWork offers month-to-month terms, for 1 to 100+ person offices, with the ability to switch between locations. These are available in two structures:
And if all of that still isn't enough to peak your interest, how does the potential to make a little cash on the side sound? Yes, under the WeWork referral program, you could receive a 10% monthly referral fee for up to one year.
Here's how it works: If someone referred by you joins WeWork under the Dedicated or Private memberships, and pays, say, $500 per month, you'll make $50 monthly for up to a year. Sweet!
