Hey small space dwellers! The response to the dorm room mood board and college checklist I shared last week was ah-mazing! If you missed it, click here to get the scoop.
It's funny, although a college dorm room is probably one of the smallest "living spaces" I can think of, it never occurred to me until recently to feature one. That got me thinking, what if I could show you a real life example of how one family helped their student create a dorm room that is totally "snatched"? I believe I've found the perfect example.
Perhaps it's because I don't have any children, but the college school season seems to always catch me of guard. Most times I don't even notice it until I go to my favorite home decor store only to find that the shelves have been wiped clean!
First confusion sets in..."Hmm, is the store closing?", then there's optimism "Maybe they just had a big sale or something?" Then suddenly it hits me: "Awww man, it's college season!"

During a recent visit, a friend of mine expressed admiration over the transformation of my home throughout the years. I admit it feels good to have finally found a way to express myself through it. Now, much like an artist's canvas, it acts as a medium, progressively revealing the personalities, values and habits of my husband and I, as you wind from one room to another.
Yet looking aesthetically pleasing is only a part of the experience. It also needs to appeal to other senses that contribute to its enjoyment. One of those is the sense of smell.
Blogging life has its perks. You can choose your own work hours, topics, style of writing and blog aesthetics, and in some cases, how much money you will make. Don't feel like blogging today? Fine. Don't. Don't know how to do something? There is a plethora of information on how to do just about anything, so you're never alone.
But what if you just want to take a much needed break? Then what?
Every once in while I grab my camera and do a little sightseeing around my city. It's a chance to practice my photography and to capture things that inspire me.
Recently, while going through my photo archives I noticed a trend. Many of them were photos of ceilings. But not just any ceiling— gaw-geous ceilings.

I can't believe I'm even writing this, but tomorrow marks the 1st anniversary of this l'il blog of mine. I still remember that first post like it was yesterday. The way time rushes on relentlessly always amazes me!
While blogging has not been my life's greatest challenge, it hasn't been a walk in the park either. The learning curve for it is pretty steep. Sooo...so many new things to learn!
But now, the anxiety that used to overtake me when I sat down to write a post has finally subsided. Feeling somewhat centered and slightly proud of myself for not giving up halfway through this journey, I thought now would be a great time to take a look back at lessons learned.
