ORC Week 7 of 7
Welcome to REVEAL WEEK of the Fall 2017 One Room Challenge! Many thanks to Linda from CallingItHome and media sponsor House Beautiful for hosting this challenge. Without it, many of the spaces of my home would probably never receive the attention they need.
Without a doubt, revamping this hallway proved to be more challenging than I ever imagined. But I couldn't be more proud of what we've accomplished here. This space is my spicy bowl of boom chakalaka. HA! My #stopandstaredecor. Every ounce of creativity I could muster has been poured into it.
So please grab a cuppa your favorite sumthin', sumthin' and linger in it a bit with me. I hope that you are as pleased with the results as I am.
ORC Week 6 of 7
We’ve reached what should technically be the last week of the One Room Challenge hosted by CallingItHome and media sponsor House Beautiful. And boy am I ever glad to have an extra week!
While my room is technically finished, I keep finding more things to tweak. This is final push week. Time to touch up paint, reinstall baseboards, and caulk. In addition to that, there’s still one more thing I have yet to do… Hang that DIY chandelier I shared with you last week.
The good news is that we finally decided on a color for the floor stain. But the final choice couldn’t be further away from the original plan. We chose white. Aye!
Where ever you are in your home right now, take a few moments to look around the room. Are there parts of the room that cause you frustration?
Perhaps it's a collection of random tchotchkes (trinkets) cluttering up your mantel. Or a pile of decor misfits setting in the corner. You've been meaning to take those items back to the store for weeks now. Yes, I've been there too.
Are you looking for new ideas for styling your home? If you're one who learns by watching others, you will enjoy this Friday's Fix. Today I'm giving you a little dose of decor eye-candy and inspiration from a few rising stars in the interior design world.
Clearly no home is without its own issues. Small spaces of course, tend to have an additional list of unique challenges. But there is one problem that seems to creep up in nearly every home. What is it? Ugly floors.
Most people just opt to just cover an eyesore floor with another one. The next homeowner comes in and does the same thing. Before you know it an entirely new set of problems arise when yet another homeowner arrives and is stuck removing all those layers of flooring. Trust me— I know. So what's a practical solution? Why paint of course!
ORC: Week 3 of 6
Welcome to Week 3 of the One Room Challenge, where I along with more than 200 other bloggers are making over one room of our choice in 6 weeks or less. The event is sponsored by CallingItHome and media partner House Beautiful. To view the progress of others participating in this challenge click here; and here to view the 20 featured designers.
Last week was filled with dashed makeover dreams. But I’m happy to say that the past 7 days have been gloriously productive. I even have a little DIY to share with you.
There are spaces in every home where the idea of adding décor just seems odd. For me, one of those places is the empty space above the loo...i.e., the toilet.
This area of my bath, as you saw in my bathroom renovation post, is completely bare. For several years now, I've wanted to place something there. But I wanted that something to serve a function and be beautiful as well.
What better place to look for instruction on how to do that than a tiny, well "dressed" hotel? Boutique hotels serve as this week's inspiration.
Welcome to "my place". I'm Ola, a self-confessed décor addict and DIY think-tank. I love working with small spaces. Please make yourself comfortable, and let's get to know one another better.
