Resolve to Sleep Better in 2018 with Voila

Voila Hybrid Mattress Review

This post has been sponsored by Voila Mattress.  All opinions however, are strictly my own.

If you're reading this post, it means that yet another year is behind us and that we've  embarked on a fresh collection of 12 months! And you know what comes next right?  Lots and lots of resolutions.  Whoo hoo!

Here's the bad news.  It's been estimated that well over 50% of us will fail at sticking to our New Year's resolutions.  Boo!

But the really good news is that I've got one totally achievable goal that you just might want to consider adding your list.  I am resolving to sleep better than ever in 2018.  "How",  you ask?  I'll explain.

Recently some friends, my husband and I were talking about how difficult it is to get a good night's rest these days.  "I sleep on the sofa and I feel great the next day", said one friend.  "But when I sleep in my bed, my body aches all over the next morning.  What's up with that?"

What's up is that the wrong mattresses have been robbing us of precious z's .  Like so many others, my husband and I plopped down a nice chunk of change on a mattress and box spring set.  But within a few short years, we found ourselves right back where we started- aching shoulders, backs and necks, and a mattress with non-supportive coils .  Finally fed up, I vowed to make an improvement before the upcoming year.

But in order to keep my objective from falling into "Resolution Gehenna" like everyone else's, I knew I needed to invest in a tool that would help me achieve certain success. For me that tool was Voila Mattress .

How the Voila Mattress is Constructed

I had been planning a refresh for our bedroom for months.  So I thought, why not upgrade the mattress too?

Out went the bulky queen mattress set along with the sage green walls and the cranberry curtains. (That color scheme drove me nuts). In came the soft gray paints with kisses of plum undertones, soft textured blackout curtains, and a king-size Voila hybrid mattress .

The Voila mattress combines 12 layers of memory foam, 768 individually wrapped coils along with Talalay latex. This allows me to experience the support of an innerspring mattress and the contouring comfort of gel-infused memory foam. I invite you to view my un-boxing video below.

I LOVE, love, love the way this mattress feels!  It hugs your body in all the right places, and holds you snug until the morning.  It is 164 pounds of pure bliss.   The textured breathable mattress cover is not only beautifully crafted, but it's washable too.  Practicality.  I like that.

Within 2-4 hours of unboxing, the mattress expanded to approximately 12" deep.  If you listen carefully to the video above, you can hear the hissing noise that starts immediately after I cut the protective plastic.  I fully expected that there would be some strong off gassing (best described as a "new car scent" released by compressed mattresses).   But I literally had to place my nose all the way down to the mattress to get even a whiff of it.  In a matter of hours it disappeared.  Good sign.

After speaking at length with a Voila representative and avid user of the product, we -ahem- I opted to go with the plush level of firmness.  My husband wanted medium.  But I was warned that many who purchase the medium find it too firm and opt to return it for the plush.  For the record, on a scale of 1 to 10 for firmness the medium rated 6; the plush rated 3.5.  But be sure not to confuse plush with a lack of support.  This mattress delivers both softness and body contouring amazingly well.

To be totally fair though, my goal is to return in about 6 months with an updated review on my purchase.  I guess if I had one complaint right now it would be that I'm not really used to a low profile bed.  The great thing is that I can simply slide a slat or box spring right underneath it.  I'll let you know in the update what I decide to do.

But for now, I must say that I am pleasantly surprised by the look, quality and feel of this high-end hybrid.  Tell me, would you ever consider trading your traditional mattress for a luxury hybrid mattress?

One more favor may I ask of you?
