Welcome to Week 8 of the Whole House Organization Challenge, where my aim is to organize my whole house in 14 weeks or less. Today, we’re focusing on our baubles, our adornments, our body bling – in other words, our accessories.
Doesn't it seem that the smaller the item, the more difficult it is to manage? Accessories are no exception. Store them incorrectly and they can quickly become entangled, damaged or lost. So how can you get - and keep- your accessories in order? Keep reading as I share my tips.

By now, you should be familiar with the drill. But for those of you who are new the JLD boutique below is the process:

Short on Space?
So, you don’t think you have enough space for an accessory nook? Look around the room. You’ll be amazed at what you’ll find. Every room has at least: A) a tabletop, B) a wall, C) a drawer, or D) a door where space can be found for accessories. Let's explore this a bit further. I've included as many linked references below as I could find to make this task easier for you.
A. Tabletop Space
Here, a small leather case is used to hold men's watches and bracelets. Some other tabletop organization options are:
B. Use the Wall Space
I love this simple DIY project. Just take a 1" x 2" strip of wood, insert screws, making sure to spread them equal distances apart. Then all that's left to do is mount the strip of wood to the wall. If you want to avoid damaging the walls, tie or glue a thick rope to each end of the wood strip to create a hanger and use command hooks to hang your functional artwork. Your accessories will look amazing on display!
C. Drawers for Storage
Drawer inserts for storing your accessories need not be expensive. A try used for office supplies can also be used to for jewelry storage. Of course if you just want something fancy, I found some nice options here at Target, and here on Amazon.
D. Over the Door
The above photo is of a unit that I purchased about 5 years ago. It's an over the door jewelry cabinet. It comes with a full length mirror in the front, and a second mirror inside. It has enough space for earrings, necklaces, rings, bracelets and watches. And as you can see it holds a TON of accessories! You can find one just like it on Amazon.
I hope that I've inspired you to be creative with storing your accessories. Please tell me in the comments below what you found useful about this post? I'd love to hear from you.
