Friday Fix: Krémas

If you're entertaining friends this weekend, and want to surprise them with something different try serving Krémas.

Krémas or Crémasse, as it is sometimes spelled, is just as the name suggests - a creamy and sweet alcoholic beverage.  A native of Haiti, this hugely popular drink is often served at social events.  I like to call it Haitian eggnog.

Everyone has their own take on how to make this beverage.  A quick internet search will yield thousands of results.   Choose the recipe that you like most.

As you can see from the photo above, I prefer white or coconut rum (Jamaican Wray & Nephew), but most often a dark rum is used along with a sprinkle of anise.  One thing that is consistent about all of the recipes though, is that they're easy to follow. Just measure out the ingredients and mix 'em all together.

Why not give this a try?   Tell me, what's your favorite thing to serve when entertaining a small group?
