The practicality of chairs allows us to use them as night stands, garden planters, swings, and shelves. People have even used chair backs as canvases to display art or photography printed on fabric.
As much as I love poufs, stools and floor cushions, being offered by a gracious host to sit on one, while I'm secretly harnessed in a tight body shaper conjures up thoughts of sudden asphyxiation, and unbearable pain and suffering. A nice comfy chair should always be an available option for guests. They are the "friends" of our sofas and dining room tables. And we - I - cannot imagine life without them.
For those who enjoy making a statement through the use of chairs, I've compiled a list of affordable, and of course, chic options. For your convenience, the photos below are linked to an affiliate, and are clickable.
This red branch chair would add the perfect pop of color to a dining room. It's also one the second least expensive chairs on this list at just $52.
At first glance this chair doesn't seem like it would fall into the "affordable" category, but to our delight it does. The sleek lines are fitting for both masculine and feminine decor schemes. $149
Mid-century modern, and literally anything pink have been trending heavily for a while now. Just check out the hashtag #ihavethisthingwithpink, and you'll find more than 50k photos featuring something with the color. I have to admit that I have a bit of a love affair with pink too. This Eames inspired chair satisfies the need for both at $49.
If cottage chic is what you're going for then check out these of Paris inspired armchairs. Only $395 for the pair.
Continuing with the mid-century modern theme, here’s a really cool number. Very Mad Men, don’t you think? Only $143 each.
Both the color and style of this chair make it a great choice for a bedroom, office or living room. The chunky legs and nail head trim are a nice touch. $129
Perhaps you've been dreaming of pairing a dark wooden or white dining table with sleek ghost chairs, like in the photo at the beginning of this article. Well, now you can score two ghost chairs for $132 on Amazon.
So that wraps up this week's inspiration. Tell me, which chair in this list is your favorite?
