This homeowner's small galley-style kitchen has 2 - yes two pantries. Oh the things I could do with an extra 20-24 inches of space! Excited about this opportunity to do something special here, and knowing that the client was an avid tea drinker, I recommended she use the extra space for a tea and coffee bar.
In a previous post I showed a photo of the raw space, along with a rendering of what I wanted it to look like once finished. In case you missed the before photo here it is again below.
Although this is technically extra space it's still small. So finding the right systems to create the dream tea and coffee bar would still be challenging. The measurements of every single item used had to be exact. If you will be attempting something like this in your home, be sure to download the WHO Worksheet to drastically reduce the amount of time spent looking for the perfect items for your pantry.
The first step in this project was to call in a capable handyman to:
Not bad! Chewy (the handyman) completed in less than 2 hours, what would have taken me an entire day. Sometimes it pays to call in the professionals.
After lots, and lots of sourcing products through many different websites, and stores, we were able to nail down a place for everything. And here are the results...
What an ambitious project! This pantry took about as much planning and effort as an entire room! But the results are well worth it. To help you along in your own project, I've included links to most of the items used in this makeover below.
1. Better Homes and Gardens basket // 2. White hardwood file box // 3. Starbucks flavored syrups // 4. Honey sticks // 5. Roomfitters 3-tier rolling cart // 6. Avalon bar cart // 7. Bormioli Rocco cappuccino cups // 8. Bailey's chocolate truffles // 9. Torani flavored syrups // 10. Keurig K10 // 11. Taylors of Harrogate blackberry & raspberry tea // 12. Wall mounted magazine racks
And that wraps up this week's Friday Fix! Please share your thoughts on this makeover/organization project in the comments below. I can't wait to hear from you!
