Feijoada | Atlanta, GA
Award-Winning Submission | CASE Conference 2025
The Brief: To transform a contemporary loft into a soulful, sophisticated retreat for a Brazilian entrepreneur who loves to entertain. Inspired by the cultural richness of Brazil's beloved dish, Feijoada, the challenge was to reinterpret Sherwin-Williams' vibrant Sunbaked Hues palette through a masculine, moody, and distinctly global lens.
The Approach: We began with a story, imagining Caio Souza, a successful Brazilian entrepreneur living above Chicago's magnificent lakefront. His personality and passion for hospitality informed every decision. A dramatic four-sided glass fireplace crowned in fluted coral lava stone anchors the space, while a sculptural serpentine sofa and convertible pool-to-dining table invite conversation and celebration. Rich walnut millwork integrates a bar, entertainment center, and DJ station. Grasscloth-inspired walls, red marble, sculptural lighting, and a boldly patterned ceiling create an atmosphere of quiet drama, with artwork adding a deeply personal touch.
The Outcome: A richly layered interior where Brazilian warmth meets Chicago sophistication. Bold colors find unexpected harmony, entertaining becomes an art form, and every detail contributes to a space as distinctive as the man imagined to inhabit it. The concept earned first place in the 2025 CASE Conference Interior Design Challenge, recognizing its marriage of thoughtful function, cultural storytelling, and striking visual impact.
Because the most compelling interiors don't simply make a statement. They tell a story worth remembering.
